Jessica Weitzel and Caroline Taggart attended the annual Association for Institutional Research Conference in Washington, DC last week. We have worked with staff in various offices of Institutional Research at colleges and universities, but the conference was a chance for us to learn more about the roles and challenges that Institutional Research staff experience.
As fellow data enthusiasts, we had many informative conversations at the conference, and attended a variety of sessions. We learned more about predicting GPA, creating dashboards for many stakeholders, early warning systems, school climate and post-graduate surveys, and various measures of student success. During breaks, we also managed to take in some great artwork at nearby national galleries!
