Description of grant: The FSCS program provides support for the planning, implementation, and operation of full-service community schools that improve the coordination, integration, accessibility, and effectiveness of services for children and families, particularly for children attending high-poverty schools, including high-poverty rural schools. Full-service community schools provide comprehensive
academic, social, and health services for students, students’ family members, and community members that are designed
to improve education outcomes for children.

 

Eligibility Requirements: special district, township, city, country or state governments; nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status, other than IHE; Native American tribal governments (federally recognized or other) must serve a minimum of 2 full-service community schools

 

Points for Evaluation:

25 points for quality of project design, which includes the extent to which the goals, objectives, and outcomes to    be achieved by the proposed project are clearly specified and measurable

15 points for quality of the project evaluation, which includes (1) the extent to which the methods of evaluation are thorough, feasible, and appropriate to the goals, objectives, and outcomes of the proposed project; (2) the extent to which the methods of evaluation include the use of objective performance measures that are clearly related to the intended outcomes of the project and will produce quantitative and qualitative data to the extent possible; and (3) the extent to which the methods of evaluation will provide valid and reliable performance data on relevant outcomes
