The short answer is yes, it can. Over two-fifths (25) of projects funded by MSP nationwide identified at least one significant positive finding for student achievement, among projects meeting the MSP criteria for a rigorous evaluation.

Many districts used summer institutes with at least 2 weeks of professional development for their teachers. There were also other strategies. Review this synopsis of MSP projects and their results. You will probably find many of the same approaches you have already used in your district’s professional development plans, and it may help you design a program that fits your district’s goals and the needs of your students!
