That’s right! More than 40 Million in Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Grant Funds are available now.

If you provide adult education and literacy services to assist out-of-school youth and adults to become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and economic self-sufficiency, then NYSED has released an RFP you will be interested in. With this funding a grantee may also assist these individuals in completing their secondary school education.

Four competitions are found in this RFP: 1) Adult Basic Education and Literacy Services, 2) Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE), 3) Corrections Education and Other Institutionalized Education Programs and 4) Literacy Zones. The awards have a duration of three years, beginning in July 2018, with possible extensions for up to two years. The size of the award varies by type, and each category has a different amount of funding.

Public school districts and BOCES are eligible to apply, as are a wide range of other organizations, including non-profit CBOs, faith based organizations, institution of higher education, and libraries.
