At various time next week, all of VIA’s full-time staff will be attending the Annual American Evaluation Association (AEA) conference in Cleveland.

If you’re not busy trick or treating with kids (or by yourself), Komani (@komani) will be presenting Game Changers: Lessons from Small Evaluation Firms on October 31st from 4:30-5:30. She is joining up with leaders from other women-owned firms to share and discuss their evaluation companies’ game-changing moments.

The next day (Nov. 1st), Amy is presenting Conducting Meaningful Classroom Observations from 10:30-11:15am. She will discuss strategies for conducting meaningful classroom observations, including how to frame the purpose of observations, use appropriate tools, understand best practices in education, understand school district goals, proactively work with teacher unions, manage teacher expectations and concerns with respect and transparency, and provide actionable results.

Thursday night, Jessica (@usefuleval) encourages you to attend the Data Visualization and Reporting Topical Interest Group “Business Meeting.” As the Program co-chair of the TIG, she has been working with Stephanie Evergreen, John Nash, and Jennifer Lyons to put together an awesome slate of Dataviz presentations and a fun business meeting.

If you see any of our team at the pre-conference workshops or the conference sessions, be sure to say hi. We love nerding out with other evaluators at this conference each year, and can’t wait to bring home tips and tricks to share with clients!

One of our core values at VIA is Commitment to Growth and Development and we are excited to be supporting our whole team in attending the conference this year!
